Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) announced it had produced 30 kilograms of 20-percent enriched uranium.

AEOI Director Ali Akbar Salehi, who was speaking to reporters on Wednesday, also said the country is already extracting uranium ore only from Gechin mine located near Bandar Abbas in southern Iran.

Salehi added that the AEOI could manage to extend the age of Gechin mine as it is simultaneously extracting uranium ore and conducting exploration operation to fine new veins in the same area.

“At this stage, we have fortunately found some good veins (of uranium ore) and we are making extraction preparations,” he stated.

He also said that two new uranium mines were discovered in Saghand and Narigan in Yazd Province but the extraction operation has not been started yet due to some preliminary work.

Salehi announced on Monday that the AEOI have started massive operations to explore for uranium in central and southern parts of the country.

Iran also confirmed that some companies at European airports were refusing to sell it fuel, and its flag carrier said planes were making unscheduled stops en route to Tehran because they could not refuel in London.

Iran has been hit by a new wave of international sanctions over its nuclear enrichment activities.

The measures have reduced the number of suppliers willing to sell the country gasoline and have made international financial transactions more difficult to reach.

State-owned Iran Air said on its website that ‘ongoing fuel supply problems at London Heathrow’ meant passengers could expect Tehran-bound flights to stop off at Hamburg or Vienna to refuel, adding an estimated 90 minutes to the usual flight time of around six and a half hours.

‘Talks to restore normal fuel supplies at Heathrow are continuing as a matter of priority, and it is hoped that the situation will return to normal in the very near future,’ a statement from the airline read.

‘In the meantime, decisions regarding the possible re-routing will be taken on a flight-by-flight basis.’

Iran’s regime is very stunned about the new sanctions and its effects which few politicians talked and warned about them in Iran also. Today the Islamic regime is more unbalanced than ever before.
